ISL, Intellect Solutions Laboratory
Project Overview
Corporate website for Intellect Solutions Laboratory, a technology solutions company based in Kazakhstan. The site serves as their primary digital presence, showcasing services, team expertise, and portfolio to attract B2B clients in the Central Asian tech market. Live at isl.kz.
The Challenge
ISL had no web presence and was relying entirely on word-of-mouth referrals. They needed:
- A professional, modern website that positions them as a credible tech partner
- Fast delivery (2-month timeline) to coincide with a business development push
- Bilingual support (Russian and Kazakh) for the local market
- A design that stands out from generic template-based competitor sites in the region
The Solution
Delivered a polished, animation-rich corporate site with:
- Motion-first design: Framer Motion page transitions and scroll-triggered reveals that create a premium feel without overwhelming content
- Service showcase: Interactive service cards with detailed capability breakdowns
- Team section: Professional profiles building trust with potential B2B clients
- Contact integration: Direct inquiry forms routed to the team's CRM
- SEO foundation: Server-rendered pages with proper meta tags, Open Graph, and structured data for regional search visibility
Technical Implementation
Frontend
- Next.js 14 with App Router for SSR/SSG hybrid rendering
- TypeScript throughout for maintainability
- TailwindCSS for responsive design with custom design tokens matching ISL's brand
- Framer Motion for entrance animations, page transitions, and hover interactions
Performance
- Static generation for core pages (near-instant load times)
- Next.js Image optimization for team photos and portfolio imagery
- Font subsetting for Cyrillic character support without bloating bundle size
- Lighthouse scores consistently above 90 across all categories
Deployment
- Vercel deployment with custom domain (isl.kz)
- Automatic preview deployments for client review
- Analytics integration for tracking visitor behavior and inquiry conversion
Impact & Results
- Live and operational at isl.kz since October 2025
- Sub-2-second load times on 3G connections (tested with Lighthouse throttling)
- Delivered on schedule within the 2-month timeline
- Client reported increased inbound inquiries after launch (previously zero web-sourced leads)
Lessons Learned
- Client communication matters more than code quality. ISL's team had strong opinions about copy and layout but zero technical vocabulary. I learned to present design decisions as before/after screenshots instead of explaining CSS or component architecture.
- Framer Motion needs restraint on corporate sites. My first draft had animations on every element. The client felt it was "too playful" for a B2B audience. I cut animations by 50% and kept them only on key interaction points. Less was more.
- Cyrillic typography requires specific attention: Not all Google Fonts render Cyrillic characters well at all weights. I tested 8 font families before finding one that looked crisp in both Russian and English at every size in the type scale.
